In my last studio session I learnt how to do a brick set with rollers and then styling the hair into a chignon bun. I enjoyed this session and found the rollers quite easy to work with, although I struggled to make sure they were set tight enough with grips once wrapped around the roller. I sometimes found the brick set pattern confusing but I managed to finish it anyway.
Brick Set and Rollers
1- Brush and part the hair into two sections one being the top of the head and the other at the bottom
2 - When sectioning the hair make sure the amount of hair is the same width as the roller
3 - Section the hair using a comb and then brush through the section
4- Take section of hair and hold upwards from the head, then take a roller and roll inwards from the bottom of the section of hair
5- Make sure all of the hair is cupped underneath and rolled around the roller neatly
6- Secure the hair rollers with hair clips and undo when all hair is complete
The diagram below shows the pattern of the brick set and how I did my brick set on my dolls head.
After creating the brick set, we then styled the hair into a elegant low bun. I created my bun by lightly brushing and forming the curls towards the back of the head and then gradually began to section and shape the hair into a side parting on the opposite side of the face, after this I created a ponytail and styled it into a small messy bun and then began to style the loose ends and bun until I was happy, I also left some hair hanging free at the front of the face the frame the face and also finish the look.
